  1. This machine was made by the Nes MFG. Co.
  2. Among the accessories that came with this machine was a wooden strand guide. This allowed a single person to make a rope instead of the two usually required.
  3. In 1913 John S. Barnes and Nathan Sherwood applied for a patent for the strand guide. It was finally granted in 1915.
